11TH ANNUAL SUSCO 8K and 2K

 

September 15, 2018

Race begins at 8:30a.m., rain or shine, at South Lakes High School in Reston, Virginia.

Early Packet Pickup // Late Registration: FRIDAY, September 14th

Packet Pickup // Same-day Registration: SATURDAY, Septmeber 15th, 7-8:30am

Beginning at 7am, same-day registration and pre-registered runners can pickup their race packets, t-shirt, and race number (no race number switching allowed) at South Lakes High School on Saturday morning prior to the race start. 

Start Times:
Both the 8K race and the 2K Walk/Fun Run will start in front of South Lakes High School. Both events finish in the football Stadium

8K Race: 8:30 AM
2K Walk/Fun Run: 8:35 AM

Registration:

8K:

Until August 28, 2018 (EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT): $35
Until September 13, 2018 (online registration closes): $40
Friday, September 14, 2018 (late registration): $40
Saturday, September 15, 2018 (race day): $45

2K:
Unit September 13, 2018 (online registration closes): $20
Friday, September 14, 2018 (late registration): $20
Saturday, September 16th (race day): $25
**Children under 12 (no t-shirt option): $10

**Because our t-shirts are limited to adult sizes, we now offer a reduced fee for children participating in the 2K fun run/walk. Although these children will not receive a t-shirt, they will still receive a medal for participating in the 2K**

Other Information:

Timing: The 2018 Susco 8K will use the Chronotrack B tag timing system. The timing chip will be located on the back of your race bib.

Race T-Shirt: All runners and adult walkers will receive a race shirt. Children participating in the 2K who want a t-shirt must register under the normal registration; if they do not want a t-shirt, they can register at the reduced rate.  Only pre-registered racers are guaranteed this year's race shirt. 

Parking: Plenty of parking will be available at South Lakes High School.

Water Stops: There will be one water stop on the course for the 8K.  Water will also be provided after the race. 

Awards:

8K Awards:

The top three overall male and female finishers will receive cash awards:
$200 1st Place
$100 2nd Place
$50 3rd Place

There is an additional cash award ($50) for the top Master's finisher (age 40+) for both men and women

The top two males in the following age groups will receive a gift certificate from our sponsors: 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-69, 70 & Over.

The top two females in the following age groups will receive a gift certificate from our sponsors: 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-69, 70 & Over.

**There will be only one gift certificate prize for the top male and top female in the 19 and under age group.

There will be no duplication of awards.

Awards ceremony will be held shortly after the last runner of the 8K finishes. Be sure to stick around as you have to be present to win. 

Door Prizes: An assortment of door prizes will be randomly drawn during the race, so make sure to check the awards board before you leave to see if you won something.
